This Policy Brief presents the main policy recommendations emerging from the background studies (Argentina, Brazil, Ecuador, Mexico and Peru) of the UIC-Red Sur research project "Tobacco Taxes in Latin America", which is part of a global project coordinated by the Institute for Health Research and Policy of the University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC), and supported by the Bloomberg Initiative to Reduce Tobacco Use of Bloomberg Philanthropies.
